With the unified e-visa, you can visit the Russian Federation (including Tatarstan) for all sorts of reasons like tourism, business, and even cultural and sport events. However, if your reason for visiting isn’t covered by the e-visa, no worries! Just head to the nearest Russian consulate for a regular visa. Once you have your e-visa to Russia, you can travel freely throughout the country, except for certain places that require special permission.
Keep in mind that the e-visa is a single entry visa and lasts for 60 days. You may stay for up to 16 days, but remember that the day you arrive and the day you leave count as part of those 16 days. You can use a visa calculator to help you get a clearer idea of how long you can stay. If you’re ready to get your Russian adventure started- including Tatarstan- you can check out the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation for more information on how to get your e-visa.
Make sure to check official sources before you travel because the rules for getting an e-visa might change.
