Location: opposite the hamlet of Vasil’evo, Zelenodolsky district
The nature reserve is situated in a beautiful place on the west bank of the River Sumka. The colony is one of the biggest in the European part of Russia and contains about 400 nests of birds. The herons build their nests on the top branches of the trees. Trees are mostly 150-200 years old.
