Great research work was carried out by the Golden Horde archaeological expedition headed by academician Albert Akhmetzyanovich Burkhanov. Among the finds, there is a rich assortment of ceramic dishes of the Bulgaro-Golden Horde tradition, clay and bone whorls, cast iron items, iron arrowheads, knives, nails, staples, and a coin with Arabic inscriptions, stone and glass items. In one of the numerous household pits, bones of fish, game, and animals were found.

Archaeologists, following the results of the excavations, presented the museum with unique exhibits: jewellery, and weapons of the soldiers of Batu Khan, Tamerlane, and Kubrat Khan.

The ancient part of the museum building was built, presumably, at the end of the XIX beginning. XX centuries During the Soviet period, the building was redevelopment: before the opening of the museum, this building housed the office of the Aktai state farm, the tax inspectorate.

A two-story red-brick building on a high plinth. All facades are equally detailed. There are 7 windows on the long side (main facade) of the rectangular house, and 4 on the short side. The architectural monument is a typical example of the residential development of the turn of the century in the eclectic style of the “brick” direction.”
