The tourist activities in Tatarstan include many festivities: cultural events, national and religious holidays. All these festivities are celebrated exuberantly. Cultural festivals are established by the republican government or special funds and have international or republican status. Among those events could be mentioned the International Shalyapin Festival, the International Rudolf Nuriev Ballet Festival, the Republican Karim Tinchurin Theatre Festival, and others; and local festivals like Flower festival in Naberezhnye Chelny.
