    The city of Mendeleevsk is situated on the bank of the river Toima (a tributary of the Kama river), 238 km to the east from Kazan, 70 km to the south from the Mozhga railway station, 4 km from the Tikhie Gory pier (on the Kama river). Population – 30,5 thousand people. The town is the centre of Mendeleevsky district. Mendeleevsk is an important centre for the chemical industry. Also agricultural branches are developed. There are Ushkov State museum, working Epiphany church and the Tan mosque.
