The administrative centre of the district is Alekseevskoe. Area – 2080,1 square km. The district was founded in 1964. The settlement of Alekseevskoe is situated on the bank of the Kuibyshev reservoir, 108 km to the southeast of Kazan, near the Nizhnekamsk reservoir. At the settlement, you can find a ferry over the Kama river. Population – 9,3 thousand people.
